BOYER NAMED LITTLE EAST OFFENSIVE
PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Providence, R.I.-Senior outside hitter Breanna Boyer (West Greenwich, RI) was named the Little East Conference Womenís Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for her performance in a 2-1 week for the Anchorwomen. It is the second time this season Boyer has received this honor.

 

She hit .336 (54-9-134) with 54 kills, four aces, three assists, 29 digs and five blocks. Boyer totaled 22 kills with 10 digs in a 3-1 win over Plymouth State on Oct. 27. She followed that up with 17 winners as the Anchorwomen shut out Worcester State, 3-0, later that afternoon.

 

 

 

For the season, Boyer has played in 100 sets in 28 matches. She is hitting .265 (376-101-1,037) with 376 kills, 15 assists, 31 service aces, 207 digs and 47 blocks.

 

Head Coach Elysce Tackmannís team is 13-15 overall and 3-4 in the Little East Conference. In upcoming action, fifth-seeded RIC will travel to fourth-seeded Eastern Connecticut on Wednesday, Oct. 31 (7 p.m.) in first round action of the 2012 Little East Conference Womenís Volleyball Tournament.
