CONOR MCCLOSKEY NAMED LITTLE EAST RUNNER OF THE WEEK

Providence, R.I.-Senior Conor McCloskey (Wakefield, RI) was named the Little East Conference Menís Cross Country Runner of the Week for his performance at the 2012 N.E. Alliance Championships, hosted by Westfield State on Saturday, Oct. 27. It is the second time this season McCloskey has received this award.

 

He was second overall and first in the Little East Conference as Rhode Island College finished sixth (13 teams) at the 2012 N.E. Alliance Championships. The Anchormen totaled a score of 174.0 in the N.E. Alliance, which is comprised of Little East Conference and MASCAC institutions. RIC finished fourth (six teams) in the Little East with a score of 102. Keene State won both championships.

 

 

 

McCloskey is RICís first Little East Champion since Eric Lonergan won in 2006. He finished second (156 runners) and garnered N.E. Alliance honors for the second straight season with a time of 25:37.71. He was the LECís top runner among a field of 62 competitors.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the 2012 ECAC Div. III Championships, hosted by Williams on Saturday, Nov. 3 (11 a.m.).
