Women’s Cross Country Season Summary

 

 Providence, RI—Head Coach Kevin Jackson’s team closed out the season at the 2012 New England Div. III Women’s Cross Country Championships on Nov. 10. The Anchorwomen placed 40th (51 teams) with a score of 1,116.

 

RIC placed 26th (41 teams) at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships with a score of 744 on Nov. 3.

 

The Anchorwomen placed ninth (13 teams) overall and fifth (five teams) in the Little East at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Oct. 27 with team scores of 262 and 117, respectively.

 

 

 

Senior Ally Bejma (Pawtucket, RI) finished 333rd with a time of 30:34.68 at the 2012 N.E. Div. III Championships on Nov. 10. She posted a season-best time of 25:13.69 to finish 133rd at the 2012 N.E. Alliance Championships on Oct. 27. Bejma posted a time of 25:34.59 to finish 165th at the WNE Golden Bear Invitational on Oct. 13. She recorded a time of 31:25.15 to finish 373rd at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 6. Bejma registered a time of 25:34.90 to finish 274th at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Sept. 29. She clocked a time of 28:32.00 to finish 131st at the Wesleyan Invitational on Sept. 22. Bejma recorded a time of 28:35 to finish 284th at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 15.

 

As a junior in 2011, Bejma placed 228th with a time of 29:52.55 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 5. She finished 100th with a time of 22:52 at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Oct. 29. Bejma finished 13th at Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 15. She placed 163rd with a season-best time of 22:32.50 at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 8. Bejma placed 118th with a time of 22:51 at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Oct. 1. She placed 221st with a time of 23:48.80 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 17.

 

Prior to coming to RIC, Bejma spent two years at the Community College of Rhode Island. She is a health and physical education major and a 2008 graduate of St. Raphael Academy.

 

Junior Jessica Graham (Wakefield, RI) placed 321st with a time of 29:56.38 at the 2012 N.E. Div. III Championships on Nov. 10. She placed 239th with a time of 30:36 at the 2012 ECAC Div. III Championships on Nov. 3. Graham placed 124th with a time of 24:14.73 at the 2012 N.E. Alliance Championships on Oct. 27. She recorded a time of 31:00.70 to finish 366th at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 6. Graham posted a season-best time of 23:46.30 to finish 228th at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Sept. 29. She registered a time of 26:49.80 to finish 125th at the Wesleyan Invitational on Sept.  22.

 

Freshman Jaimee Dorsey (East Greenwich, RI) was named the team MVP and was the top RIC finisher in all eight races.  She placed 60th with a time of 22:59.02 at the 2012 N.E. Div. III Championships on Nov. 10. Dorsey earned All-ECAC honors after finishing 13th overall with a time of 23:46 at the 2012 ECAC Div. III Championships on Nov. 3. She earned N.E. Alliance honors with a sixth place finish and a season-best time of 19:02.90 at the 2012 N.E. Alliance Championships on Oct. 27. Dorsey placed second with a time of 19:04.34 at the WNE Golden Bear Invitational on Oct. 13. She finished 33rd with a time of 23:41.91 at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 6. Dorsey finished 20th with a time of 19:31.10 at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Sept. 29. She finished 16th with a time of 20:08.00 at the Wesleyan Invitational on Sept. 22. Dorsey finished 50th with a time of 19:47 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 15. She was named the Little East Conference Women’s Cross Country Rookie of the Week five times on the season.

 

Freshman Nicole Gracie (West Warwick, RI) finished with a 259th-place effort and a time of 32:08 at the 2012 ECAC Div. III Championships on Nov. 3. She posted a season-best time of 25:33.68 to finish 138th at the 2012 N.E. Alliance Championships on Oct. 27. Gracie recorded a time of 26:52.50 to finish 182nd at the WNE Golden Bear Invitational on Oct. 13. She registered a time of 33:42.26 to finish 409th at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 6. Gracie finished 294th with a time of 26:41.00 at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Sept. 29.

 

Freshman Florraine Lapotry (Cumberland, RI) finished 311th with a time of 29:13.38 at the 2012 N.E. Div. III Championships on Nov. 10. She finished 227th with a time of 29:44 at the 2012 ECAC Div. III Championships on Nov. 3. Lapotry finished 127th with a time of 24:35.33 at the 2012 N.E. Alliance Championships on Oct. 27. She finished 137th with a season-best time of 24:26.03 at the WNE Golden Bear Invitational on Oct. 13. Lapotry finished 381st with a time of 31:53.82 at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 6. She finished 268th with a time of 25:11.60 at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Sept. 29. Lapotry finished 128th with a time of 27:17.60 at the Wesleyan Invitational on Sept. 22. She finished 274th with a time of 26:20 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 15.

 

Freshman Rebecca Tellier (Smithfield, RI) placed 133rd with a time of 24:21.41 at the 2012 N.E. Div. III Championships on Nov 10. She placed 67th with a time of 25:09 at the 2012 ECAC Div. III Championships on Nov.  3. Tellier placed 24th with a season-best time of 19:46.30 at the 2012 N.E. Alliance Championships on Oct. 27. She recorded a time of 20:22.69 to finish 24th at the WNE Golden Bear Invitational on Oct. 13. Tellier registered a time of 25:30.23 to finish 121st at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 6. She posted a time of 20:03.50 to finish 38th at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Sept. 29. Tellier clocked a time of 21:15.80 to finish 52nd at the Wesleyan Invitational on Sept. 22. She posted a time of 23:06 to finish 236th at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 15.
