DORSEY WINS TWO EVENTS AS ANCHORWOMEN
PLACE FOURTH AT COAST GUARD INVITATIONAL

New London, Conn.-Freshmen Jaimee Dorsey (East Greenwich, RI) and Autumn Wosencroft (Newport, RI) each posted a pair of first place finishes and helped the Anchorwomen establish several program records as the Rhode Island College women’s outdoor track & field team finished fourth overall (12 teams) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Saturday.

 

Rhode Island College finished with a score of 80, while WPI totaled a score of 108 to take first place.

Dorsey broke the previous program record in the 200m with a time of 25.11 to take first place, and also finished first in the 100m (12.73). Wosencroft took first place in both the long jump (5.14m) and the 400m (59.02).

 

Both Dorsey and Wosencroft were members of the 4x100m relay team, along with sophomore Daria Braboy (Providence, RI) and junior Natasha Miller (Wakefield, RI), which broke the previous program record with a time of 49.46. That same combination also shattered the previous program record in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:58.25.

Braboy placed third in both the triple jump (10.67m) and the 800m (2:21.91). Freshman Rebecca Tellier (Smithfield, RI) took second place in the 5,000m (19.27.86).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete in the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, April 6 (10 a.m.).
