4x400M RELAY RECORD FALLS AS ANCHORWOMEN FINISH FOURTH AT CORSAIR INVITATIONAL

North Dartmouth, Mass.-Freshman Jaimee Dorsey (East Greenwich, RI) took first place in the 800m and helped the Anchorwomen establish a new program record in the 4x400m relay as the Rhode Island College women’s outdoor track & field team finished fourth (14 teams) at the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

 

Rhode Island College posted a score of 71, while UMass Dartmouth won the meet with a score of 132.

 

Dorsey placed first in the 800m (2:27.16) and teamed up with freshman Autumn Wosencroft (Newport, RI), junior Natasha Miller (Wakefield, RI) and sophomore Daria Braboy (Providence, RI) to establish a new program record in the 4x400m relay with a first place time of 3:57.56.

Wosencroft placed first in the long jump (4.98m) and fourth in the 200m (26.07), while Braboy took first place in the triple jump (10.53m), third in the 200m (26.05) and fifth in the 100m (13.03).

 

Freshman Rebecca Tellier (Smithfield, RI) placed fourth in the 1,500m (5:21.68), while junior Jeanette Leo (Providence, RI) placed sixth in the hammer (34.24m).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Brown Invitational on Saturday, April 13.
