Wenham, Mass.-Gordon put a stop to its four-match slide with a 9-0 sweep over the visiting Anchormen of Rhode Island College today in a men's tennis dual match at the Brigham Athletic Complex.

The win improved the Scots to 4-9 overall while RIC drops to 1-7.

Gordon proved dominant in both paired and individual action on the day as freshman Zach Hall (Sugarland, TX) and junior Kenny Gaudio (Miller Place, NY) teamed at No. 1 doubles to take down junior Alex Werchadlo (Woonsocket, RI) and freshman Ben Proctor (Cumberland, RI), 8-4.

Freshman No. 2 singles Ben Proctor

Seniors Brandon Inkles (New York, NY) and Richie Armand (Hempstead, NY) had the most commanding doubles win at No. 2 with an 8-1 decision over sophomore Mike McCaffrey (Cumberland, RI) and junior Matt Collins (Rumford, RI).

Freshman Joe Daugherty (Norfolk, VA) and sophomore Mike Olszak (Danvers, MA) combined for an 8-2 victory over the Anchormen's junior Ted James (West Greenwich, RI) and freshman Cory Duquette (Warwick, RI).

With a hefty 3-0 advantage heading into singles, the Scots wasted little time securing the overall win, capturing straight-set victories in each of the singles matches save for No. 2 in which Gaudio battled to a 6-1, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) win over Proctor to preserve the clean sweep.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will resume Little East Conference play at UMass Boston on Saturday, April 13 (1 p.m.).
