DORSEY WINS THREE EVENTS AS ANCHORWOMEN
WIN SILFEN INVITATIONAL

New London, Conn.-Freshman Jaimee Dorsey (East Greenwich, RI) was the top finisher in three events to lead the Rhode Island College women’s outdoor track & field team to a first place finish (12 teams) at the 2013 Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College on Saturday afternoon.

 

The Anchorwomen totaled a team score of 124.0 and captured first place in seven different events, including the 4x100m and 4x400m relay. 

 

Dorsey took first place in the 100m (13.02), 200m (25.86) and 400m (57.92) to pace RIC on the afternoon.

 

Sophomore Daria Braboy (Providence, RI) posted a first place finish in the triple jump (10.51m) to go along with a second place finish in the 400m (59.81). She also placed fourth in the long jump (4.66m), fifth in the 200m (27.32) and sixth in the 800m (2:28.02).

 

 

 

Freshman Autumn Wosencroft (Newport, RI) took first place in the long jump (4.95m), while also finishing third in the triple jump (10.36m), fourth in the 400m hurdles (1:10.71), sixth in the 100m (13.67) and seventh in the 200m (27.51).

 

Junior Natasha Miller (Wakefield, RI) placed second in the 400m hurdles (1:09.62).

 

The quartet placed first in the 4x100m (43.70) and the 4x400m (3:23.13).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the 2013 N.E. Alliance Championships, hosted by Bridgewater State University, on Saturday, April 27 (10 a.m.).
