FORD TIES FOR THIRD AS ANCHORMEN WIN
WILDCAT SPRING INVITATIONAL

Cranston, R.I.-Sophomore Patrick Ford (Halifax, MA) tied for third (75 golfers) as the Rhode Island College men's golf team won the 2013 Johnson & Wales Wildcat Invitational played at Cranston Country Club on April 20-21.

 

Ford posted a score of 151 (81, 70; +9) to lead the Anchormen to victory. He improve his score by 11 strokes with a one-under-par effort on Sunday afternoon. RIC posted a score of 619 (320, 299; +51) to better second place Salem State by 12 strokes among a field of 15 teams.

 

 

 

Senior Kyle Harper (Rehoboth, MA) tied for sixth with a score of 153 (78, 75; +11).

 

Freshman Jonathan Cooper (Berkley, MA) tied for 10th with a score of 156 (80, 76; +14).

 

Sophomore Ryan Butler (Windham, NH) tied for 23rd with a score of 161 (81, 80; +19. 

 

 Junior Tim Leigh (Somerset, MA) also shot a 161 (83, 78; +19).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will play at the Worcester State Invitational on Tuesday, April 23.
