ANCHORWOMEN WIN FOUR EVENTS AT 2013 NEW ENGLAND ALLIANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Bridgewater, Mass.-The Rhode Island College women's outdoor track & field team won four events and earned multiple N.E. Alliance honors at the 2013 New England Alliance Championships, hosted by Bridgewater State on Saturday afternoon.

 

The Alliance Championship is comprised of institutions from the MASCAC and Little East conferences. RIC placed fourth (six teams) in the Little East with a score of 81.0. The Anchorwomen finished sixth (10 teams) in the Alliance with a score of 71.0.

 

Freshman Jaimee Dorsey (East Greenwich, RI), sophomore Daria Braboy (Providence, RI), junior Natasha Miller (Wakefield, RI) and freshman Autumn Wosencroft (Newport, RI) established new program records with a first place finish in the 4x400m relay (3:55.93) and a fourth place effort in the 4x100m (48.80).

 

 

 Freshman Jaimee Dorsey

 

Dorsey earned N.E. Alliance honors in four events. She was the N.E. Alliance Champion in the 200m (25.23), 400m (55.65), 4x400m (3:55.93), while also placing fourth in the 100m (12.64).

 

 

 Sophomore Daria Braboy

 

Braboy earned N.E. Alliance honors in two events. She was the N.E. Alliance Champion in the triple jump (11.11m) and the 4x400m relay (3:55.93). Braboy also placed ninth in both the 200m (26.55) and the 400m (60.39). 

 

 

 Freshman Autumn Wosencroft

 

Wosencroft earned N.E. Alliance honors in four events. She was the N.E. Alliance Champion in the 4x400m relay (3:55.93), while also placing second in both the 400m hurdles (65.13) and the long jump (5.3m), and posting a fifth place effort in the triple jump (10.55m).

 

 

Junior Natasha Miller

 

Miller earned N.E. Alliance honors as part of the 4x400m relay (3:55.93). She also placed 10th in the 400m hurdles (71.26).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the 2013 N.E. Championships, hosted by Colby on Saturday, May 5.
