RIC EARNS SEVEN ALL-NEW ENGLAND HONORS
Anchormen Place Seventh at Regional Championships

Waterville, Maine-Rhode Island College freshman Jarell James (Providence, RI) earned All-New England honors in the 200m, long jump and as part of the 4x400m relay as the Anchormen placed seventh (26 teams) at the 2013 N.E. Div. III Championships, hosted by Colby.

 

The Anchormen totaled a team score of 36.0. Bates won the title with a score of 144.0.

 

 

 Freshman Jarell James

 

James earned All-New England honors in three events, placing third in the 200m (22.09), the 4x400m relay (3:16.69) and fifth in the long jump (6.74m).

 

Sophomore Jarell Forbes (Providence, RI) earned All-New England honors in the 400m hurdles with a school-record, second place finish (53.23), as well as the 4x400m relay.

 

Senior Shawn Stadnick (Wakefield, RI) earned All-New England honors in the 800m with a fifth place (1:52.76) finish, as well as the 4x400m relay.

 

Junior Craig Amado (Providence, RI) earned All-New England honors in the triple jump with a fourth place (13.95m) finish, as well as the 4x400m relay.

 

Freshman Edward Cummins (Lincoln, RI) earned All-New England honors in the hammer with a sixth place (52.56m) finish.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the New England Open Championships, hosted by Stonehill on May 10-11.
