FORBES AND CUMMINS EARN WEEKLY
LITTLE EAST TRACK HONORS

Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College sophomore Jarell Forbes (Providence, RI) and freshman Edward Cummins (Lincoln, RI) were honored by the Little East Conference for their respective performances at the 2013 N.E. Div. III Menís Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Colby on May 5.

 

 

 Sophomore Jarell Forbes

 

Forbes was named the Little East Conference Menís Track Athlete of the Week. He earned All-New England honors in the 400m hurdles with a school-record, second place finish (53.23), as well as the 4x400m relay (3:16.69).

 

 

 Freshman Edward Cummins

 

Cummins was named the Little East Conference Menís Rookie Field Athlete of the Week for the fifth time this season. He earned All-New England honors in the hammer with a sixth place (52.56m) finish.

 

The Anchormen placed seventh (26 teams) and totaled a team score of 36.0. Bates won the title with a score of 144.0.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the New England Open Championships, hosted by Stonehill on May 10-11.
