RHODE ISLAND COLLEGE WRAPS UP REGULAR SEASON AT 2013 ECAC MEN'S TRACK CHAMPIONSHIPS

Springfield, Mass.-Sophomore Jarell Forbes (Providence, RI) and junior Craig Amado (Providence, RI) each earned All-ECAC honors at the 2013 Eastern College Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Springfield on May 16-17.

 

The Anchormen tied for 37th place (59 teams) with a score of 7.0. Bates won the championship with a score of 76.0.

 

It was the last regular season competition for the Anchormen, who are expected to send several competitors to the 2013 NCAA Div. III Championships next weekend. The final list of qualifiers will be announced tomorrow.

 

Forbes earned All-ECAC honors in the 400m hurdles, placing sixth with a time of 53.21. He is currently ranked No. 13 in the nation in that event.

 

Amado earned All-ECAC honors in the triple jump, placing fifth with a 14.57m-effort.

 

Senior Shawn Stadnick (Wakefield, RI) placed 20 in the 800m (1:55.50), while classmate Conor McCloskey (Wakefield, RI) finished 23rd in the 1,500m (4:01.40). Freshman Edward Cummins (Lincoln, RI) placed 13th in the hammer (50.29m).

 

Stadnick is currently ranked No. 15 in the nation in the 800m.
