2013 Rhode Island College
Womenís Outdoor Track & Field Season Summary

Providence, R.I.-Head Coach Kevin Jacksonís team wrapped up the season with two individuals and one relay team seeing action at the 2013 NCAA Div. III Womenís Outdoor Track & Field Championships. RIC did not score as a team.

 

Rhode Island College tied for 26th place (57 teams) with a score of 11.0 at the 2013 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships on May 16-17.

 

The Anchorwomen placed 18th (35 teams) with a score of 16.0 at the 2013 N.E. Open Championships on May 10-11.

 

Rhode Island College placed 10th (25 teams) with a score of 33.0 at the 2013 New England Div. III Championships on May 4.

 

RIC placed sixth (10 teams) with a team score of 71.0 at the 2013 New England Alliance Championships on April 27. The Anchorwomen placed fourth (sixth place) in the Little East Conference with a score of 81.0.

 

Jackson was named the 2013 Little East Conference menís and womenís outdoor track and field Coach of the Year. He was the first LEC track coach to win both awards in the same season.

 

 

 

Senior Allyson Bejma (Pawtucket, RI) finished 14th in the 800m (2:48.17) at the Silfen Invitational on April 20. Bejma finished 59th in the 800m with a season-high time of 2:45.76 at the Brown Invitational on April 13. She finished 19th in the 800m (2:51.98) at the Corsair Invitational on April 6. Bejma finished 27th in the 400m (1:11.47) at the Coast Guard Invitational on March 30.

 

As a junior in 2012, Bejma finished 22nd with a season-best performance in the 800m (2:41.63) at the Alliance Championships on April 28. Bejma placed 13th in the 800m (2:44.73) at the Silfen Invitational on April 28. She placed 24th in the 400m (1:10.35) at the Bernard Solomon Husky Invitational on April 14. Bejma finished 12th with a season-best performance in the 400m (1:10.12) at the Corsair Classic on April 7. She finished 31st in the 800m (2:53.51) at the Coast Guard Bear Invitational on March 31.

 

She is a health and physical education major and a 2008 graduate of St. Raphael Academy.

 

Junior Jeanette Leo (Providence, RI) recorded a new season-high in the hammer (34.95m) en route to a 12th place finish at the New England Alliance Championships on April 27. She finished eighth in the hammer (32.75m) at the Silfen Invitational on April 20. Leo placed 19th in the hammer (34.35m) at the Brown Invitational on April 13. She placed sixth in the hammer (34.24m) at the Corsair Invitational on April 6. Leo placed 18th in the hammer (32.95m) at the Coast Guard Invitational on March 30.

 

Junior Natasha Miller (Wakefield, RI) placed 11th in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:50.97 at the NCAA Div. III Championships on May 23. Miller earned All-ECAC honors as part of the 4x400m relay (3rd; 3:50.99) at the ECAC Championships on May 16-17. Miller placed third as part of the 4x400m relay (3:49.52; program record) at the N.E. Open Championships on May 10-11. She earned All-New England honors as a member of the 4x400m relay team that finished in third place (3:54.01) at the N.E. Div. III Championships on May 4. Miller earned N.E. Alliance honors as a member of the 4x400m relay team that took first place overall (3:55.93) and finished 10th in the 400m hurdles (1:11.26) at the N.E. Alliance Championships on April 27. Miller also placed fourth as part of the 4x100m relay (48.80; program record). She placed second in the 400m hurdles with a season-best time of 1:09.62 at the Silfen Invitational on April 20. Miller placed ninth in the 400m (1:04.80) at the Corsair Invitational on April 6. Miller finished 11th in the 400m with a season-high time of 1:03.84 at the Coast Guard Invitational on March 30.

 

Sophomore Daria Braboy (Providence, RI) placed 19th in the 400m (57.57) and 11th in the 4x400m relay (3:50.97) at the NCAA Div. III Championships on May 23. She earned All-ECAC honors as part of the 4x400m relay (3rd, 3:50.99) and placed ninth in the 400m (57.99) at the ECAC Championships on May 16-17. Dorsey placed 13th in the 400m (56.80; ≠season best) and third as part of the 4x400m relay (3:49.52; program record) at the N.E. Open Championships on May 10-11. She earned All-New England honors in three events, placing fifth in the triple jump (11.09m), eighth in the 400m (58.42) and as part of the 4x400m that finished in third place (3:54.01) at the N.E. Div. III Championships on May 4. Braboy earned a pair of N.E. Alliance honors as she was the N.E. Alliance Champion in the triple jump (11.11m; season best) and as a member of the 4x400m relay team (3:55.93) that took first place overall at the N.E. Alliance Championships on April 27. She also placed fourth as part of the 4x100m relay (48.80; program record). Braboy also placed ninth in both the 200m (26.55) and the 400m (60.39). She posted a first place finish in the triple jump (10.51m), while also placing second in the 400m (59.81), fourth in the long jump (4.66m), fifth in the 200m (27.32), and sixth in the 800m (2:28.02) at the Silfen Invitational on April 20. Braboy placed fourth in both the triple jump (11.03m) and the 400m (56.94), while also finishing 10th in the 200m (26.42) at the Brown Invitational on April 13. She took first place in the triple jump (10.53m), third in the 200m (26.05; season best) and fifth in the 100m (13.03) at the Corsair Invitational on April 6. Braboy placed third in both the triple jump (10.67m) and the 800m (2:21.91; season best) at the Coast Guard Invitational on March 30.

 

Freshman Chelsea Combs (Ashford, CT) finished 13th in the 800m (2:32.85) at the N.E. Alliance Championships on April 27. She finished 15th in the 1,500m (5:28.04) at the Silfen Invitational on April 20. Combs finished 52nd in the 800m with a season-best time of 2:32.32 at the Brown Invitational on April 13. She finished eighth in the 800m (2:40.20) at the Corsair Invitational on April 6. Combs finished 16th in the 1,500m with a season-best time of 5:24.92 at the Coast Guard Invitational on March 30.

 

Freshman Jaimee Dorsey (East Greenwich, RI) was named the 2013 Little East Conference Track and Rookie of the Year. She placed 10th in the 400m with a time of 56.34 and 11th in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:50.97 at the NCAA Div. III Championships on May 24. Dorsey earned All-ECAC honors in the 200m (24.71; program record) with a fourth place finish and as part of the 4x400m relay (3rd, 3:50.99) at the ECAC Championships on May 16-17. She took first place in the 400m (55.08) at and placed third as part of the 4x400m relay (3:49.52; program record)the N.E. Open Championships on May 10-11. She earned All-New England honors with the two first place finishes in the 200m (25.35) and the 400m (55.25), and as part of the 4x400m that finished in third place (3:54.01) at the N.E. Div. III Championships on May 4. Dorsey was the N.E. Alliance Champion in both the 200m (25.23) and the 400m (55.65), placed fourth in the 100m (12.64; season best), and was also a member of the 4x400m relay team (3:55.93) that took first place overall at the N.E. Alliance Championships on April 27. Dorsey also placed fourth as part of the 4x100m relay (48.80; program record). She took first place in the 100m (13.02), 200m (25.86), and 400m (57.92) at the Silfen Invitational on April 20. Dorsey took first place in the 400m (54.95; program record) and 25th in the 800m (2:21.09; season best) at the Brown Invitational on April 13. She placed first in the 800m (2:27.16) at the Corsair Invitational on April 6. Dorsey took first place in both the 100m (12.73) and the 200m (25.11) at the Coast Guard Invitational on March 30.

 

Freshman Rebecca Tellier (Smithfield, RI) placed eighth in the 5,000m (19:29.35) at the N.E. Alliance Championships on April 27. She finished eighth in the 1,500m with a season-best time of 5:18.76 at the Silfen Invitational on April 20. Tellier finished 14th in the 5,000m with a season-high time of 19:07.80 at the Brown Invitational on April 13. She finished fourth in the 1,500m (5:21.68) at the Corsair Invitational on April 6. Tellier finished second in the 5,000m (19:27.86) at the Coast Guard Invitational on March 30.

 

Freshman Autumn Wosencroft (Newport, RI) placed 11th in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:50.97 at the NCAA Div. III Championships on May 23. Wosencroft earned All-ECAC honors as part of the 4x400m relay (3rd; 3:50.99) at the ECAC Championships on May 16-17. Wosencroft placed third as part of the 4x400m relay (3:49.52; program record) at the N.E. Open Championships on May 10-11. She placed 10th in the 400m hurdles (1:05.88; season best) and 11th in the long jump (4.96m), while earning All-New England honors as part of the 4x400m that finished in third place (3:54.01) at the N.E. Div. III Championships on May 4.Wosencroft earned N.E. Alliance honors in four events, as she placed second in both the 400m hurdles (65.13) and the long jump (5.30m; season best), placed fifth in the triple jump (10.55m; season best), and was also a member of the 4x400m relay team (3:55.93) that took first place overall at the N.E. Alliance Championships on April 27. Wosencroft also placed fourth as part of the 4x100m relay (48.80; program record). She took first place in the long jump (10.36m), while also finishing third in the triple jump (10.36m), fourth in the 400m hurdles (1:10.71), sixth in the 100m (13.67), and seventh in the 200m (27.51) at the Silfen Invitational on April 20. Wosencroft finished third in the long jump (5.26m), eighth in the 200m (26.27), and 14th in the 400m (59.75) at the Brown Invitational on April 13. She placed first in the long jump (4.98m) and fourth in the 200m (26.07; season best) at the Corsair Invitational on April 6. Wosencroft took first place in both the long jump (5.14m) and the 400m (59.02; season best) at the Coast Guard Invitational on March 30.
