MEN’S BASKETBALL PICKED TO FINISH
SECOND IN LITTLE EAST PRESEASON POLL

Providence, R.I.-The Rhode Island College men’s basketball team was picked to finish second in the 2012-13 Little East Conference Men’s Basketball Preseason Coaches’ Poll after a vote of the league’s eight head coaches.

 

The Anchormen totaled 54 points and one first place vote. Keene State was picked to finish first with 62 points and six first place nods. Eastern Connecticut, the 2011-12 Little East Regular Season and Tournament Champions, was picked third with 48 points and one first place vote.

 

 

 

Head Coach Bob Walsh’s Anchormen are coming off 23-7 overall record and a 10-4 (second place tie) finish in the Little East. RIC reached the championship game of the 2012 Little East Tournament for the sixth consecutive season. The Anchormen received their first at-large selection into the NCAA Div. III Tournament, marking the sixth straight season RIC qualified for the Big Dance, one of only five Div. III programs in the country that can claim that feat.
