4X200M RECORD FALLS AS ANCHORWOMEN
COMPETE AT SOUTHERN MAINE INVITATIONAL

Gorham, Maine- Freshman Jaimee Dorsey (East Greenwich, RI) placed first in the 200m (26.54) and helped the Rhode Island College womenís indoor track & field squad set a program record in the 4x200m relay at the University of Southern Maine Invitational on Saturday afternoon. It was an individual meet with no team scoring.

 

Dorsey placed second in the 55m (7.45), fourth in the long jump (4.80m) and teamed up with sophomore Daria Braboy (Providence, RI), freshman Autumn Wosencroft (Newport, RI) and junior Natasha Miller (Wakefield, RI) to break the previous program record in the 4x200m relay with a first place time of 1:48.70.

Braboy also placed second in the triple jump (10.26m), third in the 200m (27.22), sixth in the long jump (4.72m) and sixth in the 55m (7.64).

 

Wosencroft finished third in the triple jump (10.25m), fourth in the 200m (27.24) and fifth in the long jump (4.74m).

 

Freshman Florraine Lapotry (Cumberland, RI) finished third in the 600m (1:50.28), while classmate Rebecca Tellier (Smithfield, RI) placed fourth in the mile (5:54.40).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 12 (10 am).
