COLE & NICOLL HELP ANCHORMEN WIN TWO AT FINAL DAY OF BUDD WHITEHILL DUALS

Williamsport, Penn.-Freshman 141 lbs. Ricondo Cole (Cranston, RI) and junior 285 lbs. Brian Nicoll (Plaistow, NH) each won both of their matches as Rhode Island College defeated Muskingum, 34-15, and Case Western Reserve, 26-15, at the Budd Whitehill Duals, hosted by Lycoming on Saturday afternoon.

RIC (5-12) lost both of its matches in first round action yesterday and dropped into the Consolation Round today. The Anchormen were decimated by injuries and illness yesterday and were without several key starters, which forced a number of wrestlers to compete in different weight classes.

To go 2-0 today and get a positive feeling back as a group feels tremendous. Hopefully we will get healthy and use this as a springboard for the rest of the season.”

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will face Div. I Brown on Saturday, Jan. 19 (3 p.m.).
