BRIDGES TAKES SECOND IN THE ALL-AROUND AS RIC WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS OPENS SEASON AT SPRINGFIELD COLLEGE TRI-MEET

Springfield, Mass.-Sophomore Cory Bridges (Foxboro, MA) placed second in the all-around (35.650) as the Rhode Island College women's gymnastics team opened the 2012-13 season with a third place finish at a tri-meet held at Springfield College's Blake Arena on Sunday afternoon.

 

Div. II Southern Connecticut finished first with a score of 187.950, Springfield was second at 182.850 and the Anchorwomen totaled a score of 171.075.

 

 

 Sophomore Cory Bridges

 

Bridges tied for 10th on vault (9.200), was seventh on bars (9.075), 13th on beam (8.525) and tied for 14th on floor (8.850).

 

 Sophomore Jessica Mushinsky (Shrewsbury, MA) placed fourth in the all-around (34.725). She placed 13th on vault (9.100), 14th on bars (8.100), 12th on beam (8.575) and 11th on floor (8.950).

 

Freshman Cherise Lee (Burlington, NJ) took seventh on vault (9.350) to lead the Anchorwomen.

 

Junior Courtney Saucier (Coventry, RI) placed ninth on beam (8.850), while freshman Emma Hartan (Hebron, CT) took 10th on floor (8.975).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at a quad-match hosted by Brown on Sunday, Jan. 20 (noon). The Anchorwomen and Bears will also face Bridgeport and Wilson.
