ANCHORWOMEN FACE TOP COMPETITION
AT BROWN QUAD-MEET

Providence, R.I.-The Rhode Island College women's gymnastics team placed fourth (four teams) at quad meet hosted by Brown University on Sunday afternoon. The Anchorwomen totaled a team score of 166.550, dropping just under five points from their 171.075-effort a week ago vs. Springfield.

 

Div. II power Bridgeport finished first (194.600), Div. I Brown was second (192.225) and URI, a club sport program, placed third (168.575). An individual competitor from Wilson also took part in the meet.

 

Sophomore Cory Bridges (Foxboro, MA) placed fourth in the all-around (31.875), 14th on vault (9.150), 17th on bars (8.85) and 14th on floor (8.900). She also recorded a score of 7.600 on beam.

 

Sophomore Jessica Mushinsky (Shrewsbury, MA) finished sixth in the all-around (31.875) with scores of 8.250 on vault, 7.850 (17th) on bars, 7.250 on beam and 8.525 on floor.

 

 

Freshman Cherise Lee

 

Freshman Cherise Lee (Burlington, NJ) took 15th on vault (9.125). Junior Courtney Saucier (Coventry, RI) placed 15th on beam (8.550).

 

Junior Fallon Connolly (Weymouth, MA) placed 17th on beam (8.450), while classmate Caitlin Elliott (Marlton, NJ) finished 15th on floor (8.700).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host its only meet of the 2013 season against Southern Connecticut on Saturday, Jan. 26 (7 p.m.)
