4x200M RELAY RECORD FALLS AS ANCHORMEN PLACE SEVENTH AT TUFTS INVITATIONAL

Medford, Mass.Freshman Joel Ikuejamofo (Providence, RI), freshman Jarell James (Providence, RI), sophomore Jarell Forbes (Providence, RI) and sophomore Aleno Gomes (Providence, RI) broke the program record in the 4x200m relay (1:34.29) with a fifth place finish as Rhode Island College finished seventh (20 teams) at the 2013 Tufts University Stampede Invitational.

 

The Anchormen totaled a score of 45.0, while MIT won the meet with a 162.0 score.

 

Forbes also took fourth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.63. Junior Craig Amado (Providence, RI) placed first in the triple jump (13.95).

 

Senior Shawn Stadnick (Wakefield, RI) placed fifth in the 800m (1:58.02). Freshman Edward Cummins (Lincoln, RI) placed fourth in the weight throw (15.20m).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the 2013 N.E. Alliance Championships, hosted by Southern Maine on Saturday, Feb. 9.
