DORSEY WINS THREE LITTLE EAST TITLES AS ANCHORWOMEN PLACE FOURTH AT N.E. ALLIANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Gorham, Maine-Freshman Jaimee Dorsey (East Greenwich, RI) won two Little East titles and one Alliance crown as Rhode Island College competed at the 2013 New England Alliance Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Southern Maine on Sunday afternoon.

 

The Anchorwomen placed fourth (10 teams) in the Alliance, which is comprised of Little East and MASCAC institutions, with a score of 86.0. Southern Maine won the title with a score of 138.

 

RIC placed third (six teams) amongst Little East schools with a score of 93. The Huskies also won the LEC title with a score of 172.0.

 

Dorsey earned N.E. Alliance honors in five events. She was the Alliance Champion in the 400m (57.06), while capturing the LEC title and finishing second overall in both the 55m (7.34) and the 200m (25.96). She was also a member of the 4x200m (1st; 1:44.50) and the 4x400m (2nd; 4:02.10) relay teams.

Sophomore Daria Braboy (Providence, RI) earned N.E. Alliance honors in six events, placing first in the triple jump (10.78), second in the 400m (58.02), fifth in the long jump (5.10m), sixth in the 200m (26.42) and as a member of the 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams.

 

Freshman Autumn Wosencroft (Newport, RI) earned N.E. Alliance honors in the five events, placing fourth in the triple jump (10.31m), fifth in the 400m (1:00.32), sixth in the long jump (5.07) and as a member of the 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams.

 

Freshman Rebecca Tellier (Smithfield, RI) earned N.E. Alliance honors in the 3,000m with a fifth place finish (11:24.20).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the N.E. Div. III Championships, hosted by Southern Maine on Saturday, Feb. 16.
