MUSHINSKY TAKES SECOND IN THE
ALL-AROUND AS ANCHORWOMEN POST
BEST SCORE TO DATE

Registers a 172.375 & Records 11 Personal Bests

Ithaca, N.Y.-Sophomore Jessica Mushinsky (Shrewsbury, MA) placed second in the all-around with a combined score of 34.600 to lead the Rhode Island College women's gymnastics team at the Harriet Marranca Memorial Invitational, hosted by Ithaca on Saturday afternoon.

 

The Anchorwomen (2-3) earned a win over Wilson, 172.375-29.275, but lost to Ithaca, 186.025-172.375, and Brockport, 185.975-172.375. RIC's score was the team's best performance since producing a 171.075 in their season-opener on Jan. 13. Of the squad's 24 scores, 11 were season-best results.

 

 Mushinsky posted scores of 8.975 on vault, 8.350 on bars, 8.400 on beam and 8.875 on floor.

Sophomore Cory Bridges (Foxboro, MA) placed third in the all-around with a score of 34.125. Bridges placed 13th on vault (9.050) and 10th on bars (8.950) to go along with scores of 7.350 on beam and 8.775 on floor.

 

Junior Courtney Saucier (Coventry, RI) finished in a tie for third on beam (9.200), while classmate Caitlin Elliott (Marlton, NJ) took eighth on floor (9.150).

 

Freshman Cherise Lee (Burlington, NJ) was 14th on vault (9.025), while sophomore Mary Ocel (North Attleboro, MA) finished 11th on bars (8.600) and was tied for 13th on beam (8.700).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at Springfield on Monday, Feb. 18 (4 p.m.).
