DORSEY WINS N.E. TITLE IN THE 400M AS ANCHORWOMEN PLACE FIFTH

Gorham, Maine-Freshman Jaimee Dorsey (East Greenwich, RI) was the N.E. Champion in the 400m as Rhode Island College placed fifth (26 teams) at the 2013 New England Div. III Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Southern Maine on Saturday afternoon.

 

 The Anchorwomen totaled a score of 44.0. Tufts won the championship with a score of 116.0.

 

 

Freshman Jaimee Dorsey

 

Dorsey took first in the 400m with a time of 57.87. She also earned All-New England honors in the 200m with a third place finish and program record time of 25.88.

 

 

Freshman Autumn Wosencroft

 

Dorsey joined, freshman Autumn Wosencroft (Newport, RI), sophomore Daria Braboy (Providence, RI) and junior Natasha Miller (Wakefield, RI) to earn All-N.E. honors in the 4x200m relay (2nd; 1:45.66). The quartet also placed fourth in the 4x400m relay (4:00.10).

 

 

Sophomore Daria Braboy

 

Braboy earned All-New England honors in both the triple jump (4th; 10.91m) and the 400m (4th; 59.26). She also placed 11th in the 200m (26.78).

 

Wosencroft earned All-New England honors in the 200m (5th; 29.36), while also placing eighth in the 400m (59.67) and 11th in the long jump (4.98m).

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the 2013 N.E. Open Championships, hosted by Boston University on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 22-23.
