TAHRIKE CARTER NAMED
LITTLE EAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Providence, R.I.-Senior guard Tahrike Carter (Brooklyn, NY) was named the Little East Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week in a 2-0 week for the Anchormen, who won the program's sixth Little East Conference Regular Season Championship in the past nine years.

 

The Anchormen (22-3, 13-1 LEC) defeated Western Connecticut, 69-60, on Feb. 13 and Keene State, 86-64, on Feb. 16. Carter scored eight points, grabbed four boards, dished out three assists and chipped in with a steal in the win over the Colonials. He then scored 18 points and hauled down nine rebounds, both game-highs, and swiped three steals in the regular season finale vs. the Owls on Saturday.

 

 

 

For the season, Carter has played in 25 games, starting all of them. He is averaging 10.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.8 steals per game.

 

In upcoming action, Head Coach Bob Walsh's team will host eighth-seeded UMass Dartmouth in first round action of the 2013 Little East Conference Tournament at The Murray Center on Tuesday, Feb. 19 (7 p.m.).
