2013 Rhode Island College
Womenís Indoor Track & Field Season Summary

Providence, RIóHead Coach Kevin Jacksonís team wrapped up the 2012-13 womenís indoor track and field season with two individuals seeing action at the 2013 NCAA Div. III Championships, hosted by North Central College on March 8-9, as well as the 4x400m relay team. RIC did not score as a team.

 

The Anchorwomen tied for 29th place (36 teams) with a score of 4.0 at the N.E. Open Championships on Feb. 22-23. Prior to that, RIC finished fifth (26 teams) with a score of 44.0 at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Feb. 16. The Anchorwomen placed fourth (10 teams) at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 10 with a score of 86.0 and placed third in the Little East (six teams) with a score of 93.0.

 

 

 

Junior Jessica Graham (Wakefield, RI) finished 28th in the 400m (1:07.60) at the Harvard Open on Dec. 8 and also helped lead the 4x440m relay team to a sixth place finish and a program-record time of 4:08.40. Graham placed fourth in the pole vault (2.90m) and seventh in the 800m (2:59.31) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 1.

 

Junior Natasha Miller (Wakefield, RI) was a member of the 4x400 relay team that finished 10th overall at the NCAA Div. III Championships with a time of 3:54.86. She helped the 4x400m relay team that broke the previous program record with a third place time of 3:53.01 at the Tufts Last Chance Meet on March 2. Miller earned All-New England honors as part of the 4x200m relay, which finished second (1:45.66) at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Feb. 16. She helped lead the 4x200m relay team to a first place finish and a program-record time of 1:44.50 at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 10. Miller finished 20th in the 400m with a season-high time of 1:03.16 and 25th in the 200m (28.25) at the Tufts Stampede Invitational on Feb. 2. She finished 106th in the 200m with a season-high time of 27.51 at the B.U. Terrier Invitational on Jan. 26. Miller placed fourth in the 400m (1:03.25) at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 19. She placed 33rd in the 200m (27.81) at the Harvard Open on Dec. 8 and also helped lead the 4x440m relay team to a sixth place finish and a program-record time of 4:08.40. Miller finished fifth in the 400m (1:04.22) and sixth in the 200m (28.38) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 1.

 

Sophomore Daria Braboy (Providence, RI) was one of two individuals to qualify for the 2013 NCAA Div. III Championships on March 8-9 and finished 14th in the 400m with a time of 59.14. Meanwhile, Braboy was also a member of the 4x400 relay team that finished 10th overall at the NCAA Championships with a time of 3:54.86. She took first in the 400m (58.53) at the Tufts Last Chance Meet on March 2 and was a member of the 4x400m relay team that broke the previous program record with a third-place time of 3:53.01. Braboy finished 11th in the preliminaries of the 400m with a season-high time of 57.43 and 14th in the triple jump (11.13m) at the N.E. Open Championships on Feb. 23. She earned All-New England honors with fourth place finishes in both the triple jump (10.91m), the 400m (59.26) and as part of the 4x200m relay team which finished second (1:45.66), while also placing 11th in the 200m (26.78), 12th in the long jump (4.94m) and 17th in the preliminaries of the 55m (7.60) at the 2013 N.E. Div. III Championships on Feb. 16. Braboy earned N.E. Alliance honors in four events, as she placed first in the triple jump (10.78), second in the 400m (58.02), fifth in the long jump with a season-high mark of 5.10m and sixth in the 200m with a season-high time of 26.42 at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 10. She also finished ninth in the preliminaries of the 55m (7.54) and helped lead the 4x200m relay team to a first place finish and a program-record time of 1:44.50.

 

Braboy placed third in the 400m (58.85), fourth in the long jump (4.98m), seventh in the triple jump (10.54m), seventh in the 200m (26.75) and 19th in the preliminaries of the 60m with a season-high time of 8.23 at the Tufts Stampede Invitational on Feb. 2. She finished 18th in the triple jump (10.56m), 26th in the 400m (57.70) and 45th in the 60m (8.24) at the B.U. Terrier Invitational on Jan. 26. Braboy placed first in the triple jump with a season-high mark of 10.93m and second in the 400m (59.04) at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 19. She placed first in the triple jump (10.61m), first in the long jump (4.68m), first in the 600m with a season-high time of 1:41.58 and second in the 55m (7.75) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 12. Braboy placed second in the triple jump (10.26m), third in the 200m (27.22) and sixth in both the long jump (4.72m) and the 55m (7.64) at the Southern Maine Invitational on Jan. 5. She finished sixth in the 400m (59.32), 20th in the 55m with a season-high time of (7.44) and also helped lead the 4x440m relay team to a sixth place finish and a program-record time of 4:08.40 at the Harvard Open on Dec. 8. Braboy placed first in the 600m (1:41.80), third in the triple jump (10.61m) and fifth in the 60m with a season-high time of 8.18 at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 1. She was named the Little East Conference Track Athlete of the Week once on the season.

 

Sophomore Chelsea Key (Putnam, CT) finished 26th in the long jump (4.29m) and 30th in the 200m (28.68) at the Tufts Stampede Invitational on Feb. 2. She finished 34th in the long jump (4.68m) and 120th in the 200m with a season-high time of 28.10 at the B.U. Terrier Invitational on Jan. 26. Key placed eighth in both the long jump (4.56m) and the 200m (28.76) at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 19. She finished second in both the long jump with a season-high mark of 4.58m and the 200m (29.32), while also placing fourth in the 55m with a season-high time of 8.19 at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 12. Key placed eighth in the both the long jump (4.49m) and the 200m (29.00) at the Southern Maine Invitational on Jan. 5. She placed 28th in the long jump (4.39m) and 60th in the 200m (28.89) at the Harvard Open on Dec. 8. Key placed 12th in the long jump (4.31m) and 22nd in the 200m (30.60) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 1.

 

Sophomore Morgan Whittier (Narragansett, RI) finished 16th in the high jump (1.33m) and 18th in the preliminaries of the 55m hurdles with a season-high time of 10.52 at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 10. She finished 21st in the high jump (1.37m) and 26th in the preliminaries of the 60m hurdles (11.38m) at the Tufts Stampede Invitational on Feb. 2. Whittier finished seventh in the high jump (1.37m) and 14th in the preliminaries of 60m hurdles (11.46) at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 19. She placed second in the high jump (1.37m) and seventh in the 55m hurdles (10.74) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 12.

 

Freshman Chelsea Combs (Ashford, CT) finished 10th in the 800m with a season-high time of 2:33.84 at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 10. Combs finished 13th in the 800m (2:36.97) at the Tufts Stampede Invitational on Feb. 2. She finished 91st in the 800m (2:36.37) at the B.U. Terrier Invitational on Jan. 26. Combs finished 10th in the 1,000m with a season-high time of 3:28.61 at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 19. She finished second in the 800m (2:41.18) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 12. Combs finished fifth in the 1,000m (3:30.72) at the Southern Maine Invitational on Jan. 5. She finished 85th in the 200m with a season-high time of 31.01 at the Harvard Open on Dec. 8. Combs finished 12th in the 400m with a season-high time of 1:09.41 at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 1.

 

Freshman Jaimee Dorsey (East Greenwich, RI) was named the 2013 Little East Conference Womenís Indoor Track Rookie of the Year and was selected as the teamís MVP. She was one of two individuals to qualify for the 2013 NCAA Div. III Championships on March 8-9. After posting a time of 56.52 in the preliminaries of the 400m to advance to the finals, Dorsey recorded a time of 56.61 to finish fourth among eight competitors en route to All-American honors. Meanwhile, Dorsey was a member of the 4x400 relay team that finished 10th overall at the NCAA Championships with a time of 3:54.86. Dorsey took second in the 60m with a program-record time of 7.89 and placed third in the 200m with a record-breaking time of 25.77 at the Tufts Last Chance Meet on March 2. She was also member of the 4x400m relay team that broke the previous program record with a third-place time of 3:53.01. Dorsey finished fifth in the 400m (56.31) at the N.E. Open Championships on Feb. 23. She was the N.E. Champion in the 400m after finishing in first place with a time of 57.87 and earned All-New England honors in both the 200m with a third place finish (25.88) and as part of the 4x200m relay team which finished second (1:45.66) at the 2013 N.E. Div. III Championships on Feb. 16. Dorsey also finished ninth in the preliminaries of the 55m (7.43). She earned N.E. Alliance honors in three events, as she was the Alliance Champion in the 400m (57.06) and also captured the LEC title by finishing second overall in both the 55m with a season-high time of 7.34 and the 200m (25.96) at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 10. She also helped lead the 4x200m relay team to a first place finish and a program-record time of 1:44.50.

 

Dorsey finished first in the 400m (57.95), second in the 200m (26.11) and fourth in the 60m (7.93) at the Tufts Stampede Invitational on Feb. 2. She finished 22nd in the 400m (57.42) and 31st in the 60m with a season-high time of 8.09 at the B.U. Terrier Invitational on Jan. 26. Dorsey placed first in the 400m (58.29) at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 19. She finished first in both the 800m (2:28.44) and the 55m (7.63), while also placing fifth in the long jump (3.95m) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 12. Dorsey finished first in the 200m (26.54), second in the 55m (7.45) and fourth in the long jump with a season-high mark of 4.80m at the Southern Maine Invitational on Jan. 5. She placed third in the 400m (58.86) and 12th in the 55m (7.37) at the Harvard Open on Dec. 8, and also helped lead the 4x440m relay team to a sixth place finish and a program-record time of 4:08.40. Dorsey finished second in the 800m with a program-record time of 2:23.18 and fourth in the 60m (8.14) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 1. She was named the Little East Conference Womenís Track Rookie of the Week seven times on the season.

 

Freshman Nicole Gracie (West Warwick, RI) finished 17th in the mile (6:52.33) at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 10. Gracie finished 44th in the mile (7:01.54) at the Tufts Stampede Invitational on Feb. 2. She placed 24th in the mile (6:52.26) at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 19.  Gracie finished seventh in the mile (7:02.50) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 12. She finished 53rd in the mile (6:51.63) at the Harvard Open on Dec. 8. Gracie finished ninth in the mile with a season-high time of 6:44.79 at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 1.

 

Freshman Florraine Lapotry (Cumberland, RI) finished first in the 400m with a season-high time of 1:07.86 at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 12. She placed third in the 600m with a season-high time of 1:50.28 at the Southern Maine Invitational on Jan. 5. Lapotry finished 53rd in the 200m with a season-high time of 28.72 at the Harvard Open on Dec. 8. Lapotry finished fifth in the 600m (1:52.99) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 1.

 

Freshman Rebecca Tellier (Smithfield, RI) earned N.E. Alliance honors in the 3,000m with a fifth place finish (11:24.20) at the New England Alliance Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships on Feb. 10. Tellier finished 22nd in the 3,000m with a season-high time of 11:19.10 at the Tufts Stampede Invitational on Feb. 2. She finished 81st in the 3,000m (11:25.98) at the B.U. Terrier Invitational on Jan. 26. Tellier finished ninth in the 1,000m with a season-high time of 3:28.43 at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 19. She finished third in the 3,000m (12:12.88) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 12. Tellier finished fourth in the mile with a season-high time of 5:54.40 at the Southern Maine Invitational on Jan. 5. She finished 22nd in the 3,000m (11:29.19) at the Harvard Open on Dec. 8. Tellier finished fourth in the 1,000m (3:28.83) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 1.

 

Freshman Kristen Treganowan (Woonsocket, RI) placed 16th in the 1,000m with a season-best time (3:42.48) at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 10. She placed 27th in the 1,000m (3:45.56) at the Tufts Stampede Invitational on Feb. 2. Treganowan placed 14th in the 800m with a season-best time (2:50.55) at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 19. She placed fourth in the 3,000m with a season-best time (13:02.17) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 12. Treganowan placed 52nd in the mile (6:41.75) at the Harvard Open on Dec. 8. She finished eighth in the mile with a season-best effort (6:41.68) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 1.

 

Freshman Autumn Wosencroft (Newport, RI) was a member of the 4x400 relay team that finished 10th overall at the 2013 NCAA Div. III Championships with a time of 3:54.86. Prior to that, she was a member of the 4x400m relay team that broke the previous program record with a third-place time of 3:53.01 at the Tufts Last Chance Meet on March 2. Wosencroft finished 28th in the preliminaries of the 400m with a season-high time of 58.96 at the N.E. Open Championships on Feb. 23. She earned All-New England honors with a fifth place finish and a season-best effort in the 200m (26.36) and as part of the 4x200m relay team which finished second (1:45.66), while also placing eighth in the 400m (59.67) and 11th in the long jump (4.98m) at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Feb. 16. Wosencroft earned N.E. Alliance honors in the three events, placing fourth in the triple jump with a season-high mark of 10.31m, fifth in the 400m (1:00.32), sixth in the long jump with a season-high mark of 5.07 at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 10. She also finished 10th in the 200m (26.76) and helped lead the 4x200m relay team to a first place finish and a program-record time of 1:44.50.

 

Wosencroft finished fifth in the long jump (4.90m), seventh in the 400m (1:01.37), 10th in the triple jump (10.24m) and 11th in the 200m (27.21) at the Tufts Stampede Invitational on Feb. 2. She finished 22nd in the long jump (4.85m), 26th in the triple jump (10.12m), and 61st in the 200m (26.51) at the B.U. Terrier Invitational on Jan. 26. Wosencroft placed fifth in both the 200m (27.21) and the long jump (4.67m), while also finishing seventh in the triple jump (9.74m) at the Wesleyan Invitational on Jan. 19. She finished first in the 200m (27.89), second in the triple jump (9.69m), and third in the long jump (4.53m) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 12. Wosencroft placed third in the triple jump (10.25m), fourth in the 200m (27.24) and fifth in the long jump (4.74m) at the Southern Maine Invitational on Jan. 5. She placed 23rd in the long jump (4.70m) at the Harvard Open on Dec. 8. Wosencroft placed fifth in the long jump (4.73m) and seventh in the triple jump (9.80m) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 1.
