COOPER TIES FOR SEVENTH AS ANCHORMEN PLACE THIRD AT ELMS INVITATIONAL

Granby, Mass.-Sophomore Jonathan Cooper (Berkley, MA) posted a 78 (+6) and finished in a tie for seventh overall to help the Rhode Island College menís golf team finish third overall (16 teams) at the Elms College Blazers Invitational, played at Westover Golf Course on Wednesday.

 

The Anchormen shot a 319, finishing just a handful of strokes behind Elms College, who won the meet with a score of 310. Castleton State posted a score of 314 to finish second overall.

Senior Tim Leigh (Somerset, RI) and junior Patrick Ford (Halifax, MA) each finished one stroke behind Cooper to tie for 11th overall with a score of 79 (+7).

 

Junior Ryan Butler (Windham, NH) carded an 83 (+11) to finish 28th overall, while freshman Corey Patalano (Cranston, RI) finished one stroke behind Butler with a score of 84 (+12) to finish 29th overall.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host its Fall Invitational at Triggs Memorial Golf Course on Friday, Oct. 4.
