Cambridge, Mass.-Freshman Seongkyeong Kim (North Providence, RI) won at No. 5 singles, while junior Gowin Nathawongsa (Johnston, RI) picked up a victory at No. 6 singles, as Rhode Island College fell to Suffolk, 6-3, in collegiate men's tennis action on Tuesday night.


Freshmen Brett Taggart (North Kingstown, RI) and Mohammed Kattan (Cranston, RI) partnered for a 9-7 victory in the No. 3 doubles contest to round out the field for Rhode Island College.


Junior Marc Winkler (Caracas, Venezuela) won a pair of matches on the evening for Suffolk. Winkler took the top individual match with 6-0, 6-3 victories at No. 1 singles game.

Earlier in the evening, Winkler partered with sophomore Calixto Romero (Lima, Peru) for an 8-6 victory in the first tandem match of the night.


Romero was also victorious at No. 2 singles with straight 6-1 wins in his individual contest.


Suffolk took four of the six singles matches on the night. Seniors Drew Reilly (Boston, MA) and Vasilli Stroganov (Hoersholm, Germany) rounded out the field for the Rams winning the No. 3 and 4 singles matches respectively.


Reilly was also a multiple winner on the evening as he teamed with freshman Francesco Saia (Wakefield, MA) for an 8-2 victory in the number two doubles match.


In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will travel to Curry on Thursday, April 3.
