LEIGH LEADS ANCHORMEN TO SECOND PLACE FINISH AT HAMPTON INN INVITATIONAL

Dartmouth, Mass.-Senior Tim Leigh (Somerset, MA) finished in a tie for third place to lead the Rhode Island College menís golf team to a second place finish (17 teams) at the 2014 Hampton Inn Invitational, hosted by UMass Dartmouth, on Friday and Saturday at the Allendale Country Club.

 

RIC opened the spring with its second straight top-two finish after firing a team score of 639 (318, 321). Amherst won the meet with a two-day score of 634 (620, 614).

Leigh registered a two-day score of 155 (77, 78) to finish in the top five, while junior Patrick Ford (Halifax, MA) finished in a tie for 15th with a score of 162 (83, 79).

 

Sophomores Jonathan Cooper (Berkley, MA) and Peter Camerlengo (Pembroke, MA) both finished in a tie for 27th with a score of (84, 82). Junior Ryan Butler (Windham, NH) shot a 167 (74, 93) to finish in a tie for 32nd, rounding out the RIC contingent.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College competes at the Worcester State Tournament on Tuesday, April 15 (10 a.m.).
