ANCHORMEN DEFEAT ALMA, 76-58, TO WRAP UP PRESEASON CANADIAN JUNKET

Montreal, Quebec-Freshman guard Austin Cilley (Westerly, RI) led the men's basketball team in scoring for the third straight game, as the Anchormen closed out their 2013 preseason trip to Canada with a 76-58 victory over Alma Academy.

 

Cilley racked up 14 points and dished out three assists. Freshman forward Brian Daniels (Elmsford, NY) registered 10 points, while junior forward Victor Smith (Providence, RI) netted 10 points and hauled in four rebounds. Freshman guard Anthony Williams (Waldorf, MD) rounded out the Anchormen in double figures with a 10-point effort to go along with three steals.

 

Freshman forward Thiwat Thiwat (Portland, ME) and freshman guard Terrance Tribble (White Plains, NY) also chipped in offensively with six and five points, respectively.  The Anchormen led, 35-25, at the half and led by a game-high 27 points in the fourth quarter before ending the contest with an 18-point margin of victory.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will face Providence College on Saturday, Nov. 2.
