KANNO & MCCUTCHEON LEADS RIC
IN, 142-102, LOSS TO WESTERN NEW ENGLAND

Springfield, Mass.-Senior Sophie Kanno (Cranston, RI) won three events, while sophomore Marykate McCutcheon (Smithfield, RI) also registered a trifecta, as the Rhode Island College women’s swimming team lost to Western New England, 142-102, on Friday evening.

 

Kanno, who had a solid meet at the Blue Jay Pentathlon last weekend won the 50-yard freestyle (27.47), 100-yard breaststroke (1:15.64) and the 200-yard IM (2:27.39).

 

 

 Sophomore Marykate McCutcheon

 

McCutcheon won the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:42.32), 100-yard butterfly (1:05.69) and the 100-yard freestyle (1:00.73).

 

Freshman Jaclyn Pringle (North Providence, RI) finished second in the 200-yard freestyle (2:24.31) and the 500-yard freestyle (6:35.65).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Louise Goodrum Invitational, hosted by UMass Dartmouth on Saturday, Nov. 9.
