RIC WRESTLING RANKED #29 IN THE NATION
Nicoll Ranked No. 8; No. 1 in the Region

Providence, R.I.-The Rhode Island College wrestling team is ranked No. 29 in the nation as of the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Div. III Coaches Poll. It is the first time in three years that the Anchormen have been ranked nationally.

 

Head Coach Jay Jonesí Anchormen are ranked No. 4 in the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) with a 4-1 overall record. The Anchormen are currently riding a four-match winning streak.

 

 

 

Senior Brian Nicoll (Plaistow, NH) is ranked No. 8 in the nation, and No. 1 in New England, at 285 lbs. Nicoll is 9-1 with nine takedowns, six escapes, one near-fall and three pins.

Four other Anchormen are also ranked in New England, led by senior Silas Murray (Brentwood, NY) who is ranked No. 1 at 133 lbs. Murray is 6-0 with 11 takedowns, one reversal, five escapes, three near-falls and two pins.

Sophomore Ricondo Cole (Cranston, RI) is ranked No. 3 at 141 lbs. Cole is 6-3 with 19 takedowns, four escapes, four near-falls and three pins.

Senior Kevin Barrucci (Burlington, MA) is ranked No. 6 at 157 lbs. He is 8-2 with 12 takedowns, three reversals, one escape, 15 near-falls and two pins.

Junior Rob Sotelo (Little Falls, NJ) is ranked No. 6 at 174 lbs. He is 9-3 with 39 takedowns, two reversals, eight escapes, one near-fall and two pins.
