Smithfield, R.I.-Senior Sophie Kanno (Cranston, RI) posted a trio of first-place finishes, while junior Katherine Landry (Woonsocket, RI), freshman Jaclyn Pringle (North Providence, RI) and freshman Rachel Soria (Pawtucket, RI) all added a pair of first place finishes each to lead the Rhode Island College women’s swimming team to a 126-95 victory over Husson University at Bryant University’s Chace Center Pool on Friday night.


Kanno took first place in the 200-yard IM (2:26.67), the 100-yard freestyle (1:00.59) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:05.91) to pace the Anchorwomen in their first-ever home meet.




Landry finished first in both the 50-yard butterfly (32.51) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:53.15), while finishing second in the 200 IM (2:41.72).


Pringle took first place in the 500-yard freestyle (6:17.63) and the 200-yard freestyle (2:20.58), while placing second in the 50-yard freestyle (29.67).


Soria placed first in both the 200-yard backstroke (2:53.17) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:17.86), while taking third in the 50-yard freestyle (31.25).


Freshman Kay Mauzerolle (East Waterboro, ME) earned first place in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:24.63) to go along with a second-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke (3:06.39) to pace the visiting Eagles.


Senior Casey Pray (Bangor, ME) finished first in the 50-yard freestyle (28.11) and third in the 100-yard freestyle (1:09.05) for Husson, while sophomore Katrina Aman (Lakeville, MA) placed second in both the 500-yard freestyle (6:58.75) and the 1,000-yard freestyle (14:17.97).


Junior Ramie Cormay (Walpole, MA) added a first-place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle (13:17.46) to go along with second-place finishes in the 50-yard butterfly (33.21) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:25.82) for the Anchorwomen.


In upcoming action, Rhode Island College hosts Eastern Connecticut at the Chace Center Pool on Friday, Jan. 31 (7 p.m.).
