VAZQUEZ TAKES SIXTH IN THE HIGH JUMP
AS ANCHORMEN COMPETE
AT B.U. VALENTINE INVITATIONAL

Boston, Mass.-Freshman Steve Vazquez (Central Falls, RI) placed sixth in the high jump (2.00m) to anchor the Rhode Island College menís indoor track & field team at the 2014 David Hemery Valentine Invitational, hosted by Boston University, on Saturday afternoon. It was an individual meet with no team scoring.

 

Senior Craig Amado (Providence, RI) took 14th in the triple jump (13.34m) and finished 60th in the 400m (50.12), while freshman Isaiah Wooden (Seekonk, MA) finished 26th in the triple jump (12.05m), 77th in the 60m hurdles (10.03) and 194th in the 200m (23.97).

 

Sophomore Christian Colavecchio (Foster, RI) finished 24th in the weight throw (14.00m), while sophomore Edward Cummins (Lincoln, RI) finished 30th in the shot (13.57m).

Sophomore Jack Covino (Cumberland, RI) finished 36th in the weight throw (13.14m), while freshman Drew Sutherland (Plymouth, MA) finished 55th in the shot (11.59m).

 

Junior Jarell Forbes (Providence, RI) finished 67th in the 60m hurdles (9.40) and 79th in the 400m (50.62). Senior Cameron Richer (Woonsocket, RI) finished 78th in the 1,000m (2:45.21).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete in the 2014 N.E. Alliance Championships, hosted by the University of Southern Maine, on Saturday, Feb. 15 (10 a.m.).
