Providence, R.I.-Freshman Emily Murphy (Hampden, MA) took first place in the all-around with a score of 35.425, while freshman Megan McNeil (Pawcatuck, CT) posted a top three finish on floor, as Rhode Island College fell to the College at Brockport, 182.950-174.900, on Sunday afternoon at The Murray Center in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Div. III womenís gymnastics action.


After the meet, Rhode Island College (0-4) honored its five seniors as part of Senior Day 2014: Cory Bridges (Foxboro, MA), Fallon Connolly (Weymouth, MA), Caitlin Elliott (Marlton, NJ), Ashley Ravo (Cranston, RI) and Courtney Saucier (Coventry, RI).

Murphy finished fourth overall on with a team-high score of 8.850 on beam, while placing fifth on floor (9.000), seventh on bars (8.450) and eighth on vault (9.125). Bridges posted a score of 33.875 to finish behind Murphy in the all-around. She tallied a team-high score of 9.175 to lead RIC on vault and added scores of 8.650 on floor, 8.050 on beam and 8.000 on bars.


McNeil finished third overall on floor (9.175), fourth overall on bars (8.600) and seventh overall (8.700). Elliott also had a stellar day, placing fourth overall on floor (9.025), while Saucier finished fifth overall on floor (9.000) and added scores of 8.700 on vault and 8.500 on beam.


No. 1 Brockport was led by junior Amanda Carney (Walpole, MA), who posted the top score of the day on vault (9.575) and finished second overall on floor (9.300). Junior Olivia Sylvestro (Palm City, FL) also totaled a score of 9.575 on vault, while senior Heidi Beckerich (Indianapolis, IN) notched the top score of the day on bars (9.425). Beckerich also finished third overall on beam (9.200) and seventh overall on floor (8.950).


Brockport freshman Jill Daddario (Amherst, NY) registered the top score of the day on floor (9.500) to go along with scores of 9.300 on vault and 8.800 on beam.  Sophomore Amanda Rota (Pine Hill, NJ) recorded the top score of the day on beam (9.575) and added a score of 8.500 on bars along the way to help lead the Golden Eagles to victory.


In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Harriet Marranca Invitational, hosted by Ithaca on Saturday, Feb. 15.
