MCNEIL & HARTAN LEAD ANCHORWOMEN
IN LOSSES TO BROCKPORT & ITHACA

Ithaca, N.Y.-Freshman Megan McNeil (Pawcatuck, CT) and sophomore Emma Hartan (Hebron, CT) each posted a pair of top 10 finishes as Rhode Island College fell to the College at Brockport, 186.900-173.575, and host Ithaca College, 176.775-173.575, at the Harriett Marranca Memorial Invitational on Saturday in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Div. III women’s gymnastics action.

 

McNeil tallied a team-high fifth place finish on beam (9.075) and placed eighth on bars (8.575), while also finishing 13th overall on floor (9.000). Meanwhile, Hartan posted a sixth place finish on beam (8.950) and notched a team-high eighth place finish on floor (9.250) for Rhode Island College (0-6, 0-5 ECAC).

Freshman Emily Murphy (Hampden, MA) registered a score of 34.850 in the all-around to finish second overall. She recorded a team-high 10th-place finish on vault (9.100), while finishing seventh on beam (8.850), 12th on floor (9.050) and 13th on bars (7.850).

 

Senior Cory Bridges (Foxboro, MA) tallied the high score of the day for RIC on bars, finishing seventh overall (8.900). Senior Caitlin Elliott (Marlton, NJ) added a 13th place finish on floor (9.000) and a 12th place finish on beam (8.300).

 

Freshman Erin Craig (Weymouth, MA) took 12th on vault (9.000).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College competes at Springfield College on Sunday, Feb. 23 (12 p.m.).
