WOSENCROFT & BRABOY EARN ALL-NEW ENGLAND
HONORS AS RIC WOMEN’S TRACK TIES FOR 11th
AT N.E. DIV. III CHAMPIONSHIPS

Springfield, Mass.-Sophomore Autumn Wosencroft (Newport, RI) and junior Daria Braboy (Providence, RI) each earned All-New England honors as Rhode Island College finished in a tie for 11th place overall (28 teams) at the 2014 New England Div. III Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Springfield College, on Saturday afternoon.

 

The Anchorwomen totaled a score of 22.0. Williams won the championship with a score of 150.0.

 

 

 Sophomore Autumn Wosencroft

 

Wosencroft earned a trio of All-New England honors, as she placed second overall and established a new program record in the long jump (5.60m) and also posted a second-place finish in the 400m (59.07) and a fifth place finish in the 200m (26.15).

 

Braboy earned All-New England honors with a seventh place finish in the 400m (59.68).

 

The 4x800m relay team comprised of junior Jenna Pare (Tiverton, RI) and freshmen Abigail Dandurand (Hope Valley, RI), Allison Lomas (Saunderstown, RI), and Lauren Deguire (Blackstone, MA) finished 16th overall (10:21.41).

 

Freshman Destinee Barrette (Warwick, RI) added a 12th place finish in the weight throw (13.94m), while freshman Sierra Smith (Foster, RI) posted a 21st place finish in the high jump (1.50m).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the 2014 N.E. Open Championships, hosted by Boston University on Feb. 28-March 1.
