AMADO, CUMMINS & VAZQUEZ EARN ALL-NEW ENGLAND
HONORS FOR RIC MENíS TRACK & FIELD

Cambridge, Mass.-Freshman Steven Vazquez (Central Falls, RI), sophomore Edward Cummins (Lincoln, RI) and senior Craig Amado (Providence, RI) all earned All-New England honors as Rhode Island College finished 14th overall (26 teams) at the 2014 New England Div. III Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by MIT, on Saturday afternoon.

 

The Anchormen totaled a score of 18.0. MIT won the championship with a score of 104.0.

Vazquez placed second in the high jump (1.98m), while Cummins took third place in the weight throw (17.60m).

 

 

 Sophomore Edward Cummins

 

Meanwhile, Amado earned All-New England honors in the triple jump with a fifth place finish (13.40m), while also placing 13th in the long jump (6.29m).

 

 

 Senior Craig Amado

 

Sophomores Christian Colavecchio (Foster, RI) and Jack Covino (Cumberland, RI) finished 20th (13.32m) and 21st (13.01m) in the weight throw, respectively.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the 2014 N.E. Open Championships, hosted by Boston University on Feb. 28-March 1.
