BRIDGES & SAUCIER LEAD GYMNASTICS TO HIGHEST POINT TOTAL IN FIVE YEARS

Springfield, Mass.-Seniors Cory Bridges (Foxboro, MA) and Courtney Saucier (Coventry, RI) helped lead the Rhode Island College women's gymnastics team to the program's highest point total in five years as RIC fell to Springfield, 184.075-176.100, in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Div. III women’s gymnastics action on Sunday afternoon at Blake Arena.

 

Bridges placed second overall on bars (9.275) and was sixth on vault (9.150). Saucier placed third on beam (9.225) and sixth on floor (8.900).

 

Freshman Emily Murphy (Hampden, MA) registered a score of 35.075 in the all-around to finish second overall. She finished  fifth on beam (9.150),  seventh on vault (9.125), tied for ninth on bars (8.150) and was 10th on floor (8.650).

 

 

 Senior Courtney Saucier

 

Sophomore Emma Hartan (Hebron, CT) finished fourth on floor (9.050), while freshman Megan McNeil (Pawcatuck, CT) placed seventh on bars (8.700).

 

Sophomore Cherise Lee (Burlington, NJ) registered an eighth-place finish on vault (9.075).

 

The Anchorwomen's (0-7, 0-6 ECAC) previous high score was a 177.675 at the 2009 ECAC Championships.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College competes at Brockport on Sunday, March 2 (noon).
