WOSENCROFT AND CUMMINS SELECTED TO COMPETE AT NCAA DIV. III INDOOR
TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College sophomores Autumn Wosencroft (Newport, RI) and Edward Cummins (Lincoln, RI) have qualified to compete at the 2014 NCAA Div. III Menís and Womenís Indoor Track & Field Championships, which will be held at the University of Nebraskaís Devaney Sports Center on March 14-15.

 

Wosencroft will compete in both the 400m and long jump events. She earned a pair of All-New England honors with a second place finish in the 400m (59.07) and a fifth place finish in the 200m (26.15) at the N.E. Championships on Feb. 22. Wosencroft earned N.E. All-Alliance honors in five events at the Alliance Championships on Feb. 15. She set a new program record and finished as the Alliance Champion in the long jump (5.58m), while also finishing as the Alliance Champion in the 400m (57.77). She earned N.E. Alliance honors in the 200m with a second place finish (26.07) and in the triple jump with a sixth place finish (10.34m). Wosencroft was also a member of the 4x400m relay team that earned N.E. Alliance honors with a third place finish (4:13.32).

Cummins will compete in the weight throw event. He took third place in the weight throw (17.60m) to earn All-New England honors at the N.E. Championships on Feb. 22. Cummins earned two N.E.-All-Alliance honors at the Alliance Championships on Feb. 15. He finished first in the Alliance to take the crown in the weight throw (18.34m), which proved to be a new program record, and also earned N.E. Alliance honors in the shot (13.45m).
