TAYLOR RYAN LEADS ANCHORWOMEN AS
WOMEN’S SWIMMING OPENS 2014-15 SEASON

Hartford, Conn.-Freshman Taylor Ryan (Warwick, RI) finished second in both the 100-yard backstroke and the 100-yard butterfly to lead the Rhode Island College women’s swimming team in their season opener at the Blue Jay Pentathlon on Saturday afternoon. This was an individual meet with no team scoring.

 

Ryan posted a time of 1:09.61 to finish second in the 100-yard backstroke, while her time of 1:07.95 was good enough for second in the 100-yard butterfly. Ryan also finished 10th in the 100-yard freestyle (1:02.98).

Freshman Sydney Curran (North Kingstown, RI) finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:17.01), 12th in the 100-yard freestyle (1:03.79) and fifth in the 100-yard IM (1:14.23).

 

Junior Marykate McCutcheon (Smithfield, RI) finished sixth in the 100-yard backstroke (1:11.98) and sixth in the 100-yard freestyle (1:00.96).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host the University of St. Joseph on Sunday, Oct. 26 (noon).
