CARNEY PACES ANCHORMEN
AT JAMES EARLEY INVITATIONAL

Westfield, Mass.-Freshman Jon Carney (Bristol, RI) finished 79th (388 runners) with a time of 28:08.82 to lead the Rhode Island College menís cross country team at the 2014 James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State at Stanley Park on Saturday afternoon.

 

The Anchormen placed 23rd (37 teams) with a score of 695. Westfield State won the meet with a score of 55.

 

 

Freshman Jonathan Carney

 

Freshman Josue Astacio (Providence, RI) finished 88th with a time of 28:18.11, while classmate Jack Carroll (Cumberland, RI) finished 161st with a time of 29:16.19.

 

Freshman Steven Perez (Providence, RI) placed 294th with a time 31:56.78. Senior Nicholas Longolucco (Bradford, RI) finished 331st with a time of 33:52.19.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Western New England Invitational on Saturday, October 18 (11:15 a.m.).
