RHODE ISLAND COLLEGE PLACES 12TH AT WESTERN NEW ENGLAND GOLDEN BEAR INVITATIONAL

Springfield, Mass.-Freshman Jon Carney (Bristol, RI) finished 17th (180 runners) with a time of 28:21.59 to lead the Rhode Island College menís cross country team at the 2014 WNE Golden Bear Invitational hosted by Western New England on Saturday afternoon.

 

The Anchormen placed 12th (18 teams) with a score of 358. Roger Williams won the meet with a score of 45.

 

 

 Freshman Jack Carroll

 

Freshman Jack Carroll (Cumberland, RI) finished 56th with a time of 29:41.41, while classmate Josue Astacio (Providence, RI) finished 125th with a time of 32:30.59.

 

Senior Craig Amado (Providence, RI) placed 141st with a time 33:25.00. Senior Nicholas Longolucco (Bradford, RI) finished 158th with a time of 33:10.31.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the 2014 Little East Conference and New England Alliance Championships, hosted by MCLA on Saturday, Nov. 1.
