ABIGAYL WHITE NAMED LITTLE EAST WOMEN’S

VOLLEYBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK FOR THIRD TIME

Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College freshman setter Abigayl White (Coventry, RI) was named the Little East Conference Women’s Volleyball Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week and third time this season for her performance during a 1-2 week for the Anchorwomen.

 

White recorded a team-high 63 assists on the week for RIC. She added six kills, two service aces and 25 digs on the week. White began the week by handing out 14 assists, notching eight digs and five kills in a 3-0 defeat to LEC foe Eastern Connecticut (25-27, 25-17, 25-17) on Oct. 14.

 

 

 

She handed out a team-high 49 assists in a victory over CCNY, 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-10) and a 3-0 defeat against Emerson (26-24, 25-17, 26-24) on Saturday, Oct. 18.

 

For the season, White has played in 67 sets in 20 matches. She leads the team with 548 assists, while also tallying 29 kills, 18 service aces, 155 digs and nine blocks.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at Johnson & Wales on Tuesday, Oct. 21 (7 p.m.).
