TRESSA CANNATA NAMED LITTLE EAST
WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College junior Tressa Cannata (Cranston, RI) was named the Little East Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for her performance in a 3-0 week for the Anchorwomen.

Cannata topped Bridgewater State senior Rachel Eramo (Rowley, MA), 6-4, in the deciding third set of the No. 5 singles match to lift the Anchorwomen to a 5-4 win over Bridgewater State on Monday afternoon.

The match was suspended due to darkness on Oct. 15, and was finished Monday. With the match tied, 4-4, and Cannata and Eramo deadlocked at one set apiece, the two squared off on Monday to decide which team would finish the season in second place and secure a bye in the upcoming 2014 Little East Conference Women's Tennis Tournament.
