ASIEDU AND DOGBEY EARN WEEKLY
LITTLE EAST MENíS SOCCER HONORS

Providence, R.I.-Senior forward Emmanuel Asiedu (Lincoln, RI) and freshman forward Komla Dogbey (Providence, RI) were recognized by the Little East Conference for their respective performances in a 2-0 week for the RIC menís soccer team.

 

Asiedu was named the Little East Conference Menís Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. It is the second time this season he has received this honor. He had two goals and an assist for five-point efforts in RICís, 5-2, win over Westfield State on Oct. 22 and again in the clubís, 4-0, shutout vs. Southern Maine on Oct. 25.  For the season, Asiedu has played in 14 games, starting all of them. He has 12 goals and four assists for 28 points.

Dogbey was named the Little East Conference Menís Soccer Rookie of the Week for the second straight week. He scored a goal in each of the Anchormenís wins this past week. For the season, he has played in 16 games, starting 13 of them. Dogbey has eight goals and two assists for 18 points.

Head Coach John Melloís team is currently 10-5-1 overall and 3-2-1 (third place tie) in the Little East.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Johnson & Wales on Tuesday, Oct. 28 (4 p.m.).
