DEGUIRE LEADS ANCHORWOMEN AT 2014 N.E.
ALLIANCE CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

Williamstown, Mass.-Sophomore Lauren Deguire (Blackstone, MA) finished 39th (177 runners) with a time of 21:28.16 to lead the Rhode Island College women’s cross country team to a 10th-place (15 teams) finish at the 2014 New England Alliance Women’s Cross Country Championships hosted by MCLA at the Mt. Greylock Course on Saturday afternoon.

 

The Anchorwomen finished with a team score of 239.0, then placed fifth (seven teams) among Little East Conference institutions with a score of 125.0. Keene State won both titles with scores of 22 and 18, respectively.

 

Junior Rebecca Tellier (Smithfield, RI) finished 42nd (177 runners) with a time of 21:29.93. Senior Jenna Pare’ (Tiverton, RI) finished 61st with a time of 22:06.26. Sophomore Allison Lomas (Saunderstown, RI) finished 78th with a time of 22:49.24.

Sophomore Jenna Capobianco (Foster, RI) finished 91st with a time of 23:34.67. Sophomore Abigail Dandurand (Hope Valley, RI) finished 106th with a time of 24:00.50.

 

Sophomore Jessica Trautman (Narragansett, RI) placed 140th with a time of 25:19.15. Freshman Marisa Longolucco (Bradford, RI) placed 169th with a time of 29:01.45.

 

Senior Julie Merlain (Providence, RI) finished 174th with a time of 30:50.12.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the 2014 N.E. Div. III Regional Championships, hosted by Williams on Saturday, Nov. 15.
