2014 Rhode Island College Menís Cross Country
Season Summary

Providence, R.I.-Head Coach Kevin Jacksonís menís cross country team concluded the 2014 campaign with a 49th place (54 teams) finish at the 2014 N.E. Div. III Championships on Nov. 15. The Anchormen totaled a score of 1,452.0.

 

The Anchormen did not score as a team at the 2014 New England Alliance Championships.

 

 

 

Senior Craig Amado (Providence, RI) placed 351st (33:43.9) at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Nov. 15. Amado finished 150th (34:01.31) at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Nov. 1. He finished 141st with a season-best time of 33:25.00 at the Golden Bear Invitational on Oct. 18.

 

As a junior in 2013, Amado finished 351st with a season-best effort (34:16.27) at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Nov. 16. He finished 115th (31:57.76) at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Nov. 2.

 

He is a community health major and a 2010 graduate of Central High School.

 

Senior Nicholas Longolucco (Bradford, RI) was named the team MVP. He finished 359th (35.05.5) at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Nov. 15. He placed 159th (34.52.57) at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Nov. 1. Longolucco placed 158th (33:10.31), his fastest time of the season, at the Golden Bear Invitational on Oct. 18. He finished 331st (33:52.19) at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 11. Longolucco placed 125th (38:23.0) at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Sept. 27. He placed 223rd (33:46.27) at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 20.

 

As a junior in 2013, he placed 342nd (33:28.07) at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Nov. 16. Longolucco finished 133rd (33:45.18) at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Nov. 2. He finished 148th with a season-best effort (33:14.59) at the Western New England Invitational on Oct. 19. Longolucco finished 285th (33:52.30) at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 12. He posted a 71st place finish (36:02) at the Elms Invitational on Sept. 28. Longolucco posted a 129th place finish (36:37) at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Sept. 21.

 

Longolucco is a communications major and a 2011 graduate of Chariho High School.

 

Senior Brian Quigley (Providence, RI) finished 347th (33:20.8) at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Nov. 15. He finished 139th  and ran a season-best 32:51.92 at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Nov. 1.

 

Quigley is a biology major with a minor in chemistry. He graduated from Bishop Feehan High School in 2006.

 

Freshman Josue Astacio (Providence, RI) finished 125th (32:30.59) at the Golden Bear Invitational on Oct. 18. He placed 88th with a season-best time (28:18.11) at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 11. He finished 20th (30:12.0) at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Sept. 27. Astacio was named the Little East Menís Cross Country Rookie of the Week once on the season.

 

Freshman Jonathan Carney (Bristol, RI) led the Anchormen at four invitationals on the season. He paced the Anchormen by finishing 197th  (28:55.2) at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Nov. 15. Carney finished 17th (28:21.59) to lead the Anchormen at the Golden Bear Invitational on Oct. 18. He finished 79th (28:08.82) to pace the Anchormen at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 11. Carney placed 21st (30:26.0) at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Sept. 27. He finished 142nd (28:21.76) to pace the team at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational to open the season. Carney was named the Little East Menís Cross Country Rookie of the Week twice on the season.

 

Freshman Jack Carroll (Cumberland, RI) placed 228th (29:29.0) at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Nov. 15. He paced the Anchormen at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Nov. 1 with an 87th place finish (30:41.47). Carroll placed 56th (29:41.41) at the Golden Bear Invitational on Oct. 18. He finished 161st (29:16.19) at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 11. Carroll finished 25th (30:50.0) at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Sept. 27. He placed 167th with a season-best time (28:55.04) at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 20.

 

Freshman Steven Perez (Providence, RI) placed 361st (35:21.7) at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Nov. 15. He placed 294th with a season-best time of 31:56.78 at the James Earley Invitational on Oct. 11. Perez finished 67th (32:47.0) at the Pop Crowell Invitational on Sept. 27. He finished 219th (32:00.99) at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 20.

 

Freshman Argenis Placencia (Providence, RI) did not compete during the 2014 season.
