DANIELLE LANDON SCORES THREE IN, 15-3, LOSS TO COAST GUARD

New London, Conn.-Senior attacker Danielle Landon (Wading River, NY) netted a hat trick as the Rhode Island College womenís lacrosse team fell to Coast Guard, 15-3, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

 

CGA (2-3) ripped off the first 10 goals of the first half, with sophomore midfielder Niki Krugerís (Coronado, CA) second goal of the stanza with 2:45 remaining capping the run. Landon finished the half for the Anchorwomen (0-3) with an unassisted tally with 1:30 left in the frame.

Landonís second tally of the day with 23:07 left in the second half cut the deficit to eight, 10-2, but Coast Guard responded with five goals to take a commanding, 15-2, lead with 5:02 left in the game. Landon recorded a late goal to complete the hat trick.

 

Freshman goalkeeper Alasondra Apici (Providence, RI) (0-3) made 11 saves in the setback, while freshman Angel Fay (Culver, IN) (2-3) made one save in the victory. 

 

 In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will travel to Becker on Tuesday, March 17 (4 p.m.).
