RIC PLACES SECOND AT ERIC LOESCHNER INVITATIONAL

Fitchburg, Mass.-Junior Edward Cummins (Lincoln, RI) recorded a first place finish in the hammer to lead Rhode Island College menís track & field team to second place at the Eric Loeschner Invitational hosted by Fitchburg State on Saturday afternoon.

 

The Anchormen placed second (22 teams) with a score of 113.0. WPI won the meet with a score of 186.50.

 

Cummins placed first in the hammer (57.66m) and sixth in the discus (39.21).

 

 

 

Senior Craig Amado (Providence, RI) placed first in both the long jump (6.75m) and the triple jump (14.54m).

 

Sophomore Colin Cabral (Cumberland, RI) placed first in the shot (13.74m), third in the javelin (49.52m) and seventh in the hammer (45.82m).

 

Sophomore Steve Vazquez (Central Falls, RI) placed second in the high jump (2.05m).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the N.E. Alliance Championships, hosted by Fitchburg State on Saturday, April 25.
