CAMERLENGO LEADS RIC TO WIN
AT BLAZERS INVITATIONAL

Granby, Mass.-Junior Pete Camerlengo (Pembroke, MA) finished in three-way tie for first place with a 75 (+3) to lead the Rhode Island College men’s golf team at the Blazers Spring Invitational at the Westover Golf Course on Wednesday afternoon.

 

RIC placed first (11 teams) at the event with a 307 (+19). Elms finished second, 18 strokes back with a 325. Worcester State and Babson finished in a tie for third with a 327 (+39). Camerlengo lost on the sixth playoff hole to Worcester State’s David Rixham for the medalist honor.

 

 

 

Senior Patrick Ford (Halifax, MA) and junior Jonathan Cooper (Berkley, MA) finished in a tie for sixth, each shooting a 77 (+5).

 

Senior Ryan Butler (Windham, NH) rounded out the Anchormen in the top-10, finishing in a tie for ninth with a 78 (+6). Freshman Drew Quirk (Longmeadow, MA) rounded out the quintet with a 13th place tie 80 (+8).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete in its annual “The Cup” competition with Johnson & Wales on Sunday, April 26.
