FORD HELPS ANCHORMEN WIN RICH KORZEC MEMORIAL INVITATIONAL

Sutton, Mass.-Senior Patrick Ford (Halifax, MA) earned medalist honors and three other Anchormen finished in the top eight as the Rhode Island College menís golf team captured the Rich Korzec Memorial Invitational held at Blackstone National on Tuesday afternoon.

 

RIC placed first (eight teams) at the event with a 304 (+16). Assumption placed second with a 311 (+23) while the hosts, Worcester State, finished third with a 324 (+36).

 

 

 

Ford finished first overall with a 73 (+1). Senior Ryan Butler (Windham, NH) finished in a tie for second place with a 74 (+2).

 

Junior Jonathan Cooper (Berkley, MA) finished seventh, shooting a 78 (+6), while junior Pete Camerlengo (Pembroke, MA) finished in a tie for eighth with a 79 (+7).

Freshman Drew Quirk (Longmeadow, MA) rounded out the RIC contingent, finishing in a tie for 26th with an 86 (+14).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the 2015 NCAA Div. III Menís Golf National Championships (NC) on May 12-15.
